The spirituality of the Mercedarian Order flows from a deep love for Christ the Redeemer and a strong commitment to serve those in danger of losing their faith. It is rooted in four key pillars that shape our daily life and mission:
The Eucharist The Holy Eucharist is the heart of our spiritual life. It is in the celebration of the Mass and in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament that we find our strength, renewal, and unity with Christ, who gave Himself for our redemption.
Devotion to Our Lady of Mercy Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Mercy, is our Mother, Protector, and Model. We turn to her with love and confidence, seeking her intercession as we strive to bring hope, compassion, and spiritual freedom to those in need.
Fraternal Community Life As Mercedarians, we live together as brothers, united in prayer, work, and service. Our community life is a witness to the Gospel and a sign of the love and unity that flows from the Holy Trinity.
Mission to the Captive and the Oppressed Faithful to our Fourth Vow, we are called to offer our lives, if necessary, for those in danger of losing their faith. Our mission is directed especially toward those who are spiritually, morally, or socially enslaved-bringing them the light of Christ’s mercy and redemption.
